That promise is the product. For a small business staring at a stalled follower count, a guaranteed 1,000+ followers a month for $29 is a seductive offer, and Path Social's marketing machine makes sure you see it everywhere. The mechanics behind the influencer-network claim are not something the company makes independently verifiable.
It fits buyers who want the follower number to go up quickly and cheaply and are not too concerned with who those followers are. It does not fit anyone whose goal is engagement, reach or customers, because those depend on follower quality, which is exactly where the user complaints concentrate.
